This silver ring with horizontal layers of copper is like the bark of the wild cherry tree, with it's horizontal lenticels, (the lines of pores through which it breathes).
 
This ring features my own handmade version of makume gane: my take on the Japanese metalworking process where layers of different metals are combined to create a patterned laminate.
